I added a link to the New Zealand History online site. There is a short piece on the Spanish Civil War on the site. The section was prepared by Imelda Bargas and Steve Watters. It was “written to coincide with the publication of Kiwi Compañeros: New Zealand and the Spanish Civil War, edited by Mark Derby and published by Canterbury University Press in 2009.”
I am planning on adding a copy of the above book to my personal library in the near future.

I added two new links to the blog site. The first deals with Cuban volunteers. It has several brief biographical sketches of Cubans who appear in the American list. The last post is from 2007 so it does not appear that new material will be added. The second site Brunete En La Memoria is dedicated to the Battle of Brunete. Recent posts of interest include reprints of Alan Entin’s Salud Bernie and Rebecca Schachter’s Phil Schachter.
I am working on typing up all of the biographical data into actual sketches.

Just finished reading the latest issue of The Volunteer. I really enjoyed the article by Anna Marti “In the Footsteps of the Lincolns.” I had seen parts of this online over the past few years but it was really nice to see all of their research pulled together in one article. The timeline they established for the XV BDE’s movements during the Retreats really adds to our knowledge.
Last I added a link to Jake Kramer’s Papers at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
